Every Bard out there needs to grab one of these!! Plus 3 Charisma!!? Zowies!!
Tell ‘em Armando the Bard sent you!
Has anyone ever suggested holding Gary Con simultaneously in other places like Boston, New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Houston, etc. Gary Con sounds wonderful and I’m pretty sure that there are more TTRPG enthusiasts in the U.S. that need a Gary Con experience than those that can go to Lake Geneva.
So apparently, we forgot about the fluffy gamers this year? No bigger sizes?
Unfortunately, Printful only offers the sizes you see in that shirt style.
What’s the best way to buy game tickets? Can I add the games that I want, and have open seats, to my cart before my tier sales open and then just hit “send” when the tier sales open? Or do I have to wait until my tier sales opens to start adding games to my cart?
This was the worst event I played in at all of GaryCon. I was very excited, finding out that it was a follow-up to Temple of Elemental Evil. But then we were assigned to the wrong table. Then our DM didn’t show. Then we were given a backup DM. Then our actual DM showed up and we were told that we were going to have two DMs. It would have been nice to have been told how the scoring was going to go, so we would know what to focus on. But that was the last of our concerns.
Our DMs were like an old, bickering married couple. Each time we decided to do something, they took at least five minutes to discuss whether we could do it, and what the repercussions were. Not only that, it seemed like neither one had read the module, and each had to discuss with each other the specifics of the rooms and the details of the module. They didn’t even know which element went with which symbol.
One DM was very soft-spoken, so that made hearing things difficult for half the table. The other talked down to us like were idiots and had never played D&D before. Finally, at the end, one of the DMs critiqued our play, telling us that all we did was try “brute force” in every situation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but when you are given nothing to go on but some numbered triangles, isn’t brute force the only thing left to you?
Anyway, we were left disappointed and frustrated, and wondered if because the DMs seemed to be reading the adventure as we entered each room, if maybe they had skipped some clues. If they didn’t, maybe it’s on us; but it seems as if we had the hour and half of time back that was taken away from us due to GM debates and arguments, we could have done better.
Hi Tim. Thanks for the feedback on the Legends of RP event. I will share this with the organizer, Paul Stormberg, so he can make improvements for future iterations.

Hello, I wish to be put on the mailing list for the next event.
The Next Legends of Roleplaying Tournament will be at Gary Con XVII in 2025. There’s no LorP Tourney mailing list, but if you click on Contacts, you’ll find the Gary Con mailing list sign-up.
